F*ck You No Atman -2017 28 X 36 Inches
This piece is an homage to the people who march and shout in the streets, calling an end to the violence perpetuated on African Americans by cultural confusion and police practices. Due to the loss of identity and confusion in minority communities false egos are created on both sides of the racial/economic divide. Daring to cross police lines in civil disobedience, minority hands are raised in the air, stained by the blood of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and many other victims of such violence. As long as we stand idly by, and do nothing to regain the community’s sense of self this carnage may continue; their blood is on our hands. So we must march, we must fight for what’s right, and we must make America a safer place for all people.
